Beginner class in Scandinavian folk music

Learn how to play the traditional tunes from Scandinavia that are popular both for dance and pure jamming: waltz, schottische, polka, springar, halling and more. This class, taught by Vidar Skrede, an accomplished folk musician and teacher from Norway, is for anyone new to Scandinavian folk music and learning by ear. The one requirement is that you have enough mastery of your instrument to play a melody. The tunes are fiddle focused, but all melodic instruments are welcome to join. Lessons will be taught by ear; recording devices are recommended. Sheet music will be provided after each class.
